High velocity oxy-fuel coating(HVOF)
A mixture of oxygen and kerosene (HVOF liquid fuel), oxygen and propane/ethylene (HVOF gas fuel), or oxygen and a propane–propylene or propane-natural gas mix (HVAF) burns continuously. The material (powder) is forced under high pressure nitrogen through a convergent-divergent nozzle to the burner and is propelled at supersonic speed towards the surface that requires coating.
